After reading
Gerard's article about the Consoli ligatures at www.saxofun.com
, I simply HAD TO GET ONE.... My ligature arrived today and Gerard's note about the fast
shipping service was correct!
But let's start here:
My Ponzol metal mouthpiece came together with a leather strap ligature, some kind of
similar to the Consoli design.... but absolutely not comparable to the RAMPLIG! The
RAMPLIG is a true TOOL and the leather ligature looks quite poor in comparison.
The difference is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! Before, with the leather ligature the sound was
like someone was trying to suffocate my sax! The sound was....well... how to describe
it?..... muffled, muggy, stuffy.... :-((((
With the Ramplig now the sound is strong and clear as an icecube, regardless in wich
register I play - also altissimo is a lot easier to handle with this ligature!
This clear sound, combined with a nice rusty dark nuance (I got the pro black version for
darker sound) is like having a new sax!!!!!!! Beautiful, fantastic, great!!!!!! I mean
it!!!!
